Calling all nature lovers, adventure seekers, and charity supporters! Experience the breathtaking beauty of the river Dee on a walk that combines stunning scenery with a worthy cause. This is more than just a walk—it's an adventure that makes a difference.
What to expect
Date: Saturday 12th April 2025.

Time: Walk starts at 09:00.

Where: Walk begins from Bellfield Park in Banchory.

Route: 31.5km walk following the Deeside Way from Banchory to Duthie Park, over the Wellington Suspension Bridge into Torry, finishing up in Torry Battery.

Dee to the Sea is a sponsored walk which follows the river Dee as it meanders from Banchory all the way to the river’s mouth at Greyhope Bay, Torry Battery, Aberdeen. From woodland and farmland in rural Aberdeenshire to a bustling harbour city, the Dee to the Sea will be a fun day out, where you can enjoy beautiful local scenery while taking on a worthwhile challenge to benefit a local charity.

Our walk will take you through: Tranquil Watersides / Lush Woodland Paths / Stunning Sea Views
The route follows the Old Royal Deeside Railway, it is primarily off road and has gradual gradients. At 31.5km long through stunning scenery, the Dee to the Sea is a rewarding challenge for those with fitness or wellbeing goals.

With spring in the air (and hopefully in your step!), there will be so much to see and enjoy. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you walk, including birds, otters, seals, and hopefully even dolphins once you reach the sea.
Make a Difference with Each Step

Your participation helps raise funds for Greyhope Bay, allowing us to continue the delivery of our creative, community and educational programmes, which help connect people to the coastline.
