School Visits

Greyhope Bay is an off-grid eco facility which offers your class the opportunity to learn outdoors and connect with their local coastline.

We have two curriculum-linked learning programmes to choose from that have been designed to engage and inspire children of all ages, from primary to secondary school.

From September onwards, school visits to Greyhope Bay operate on a Tuesday afternoon for the remainder of the winter period. Time for snack or lunch breaks can be built into your visit on request. (We will update this page with our 2025 availability at the beginning of January).

Applications are now OPEN for travel subsidies for your class trip to Greyhope Bay. This initiative has been generously funded by Total Energies and will be open to schools in the Aberdeen City and Shire areas. For more information, please submit a booking enquiry.

Sustainability/Eco-Tourism (P6-7, S1 – S6)
+

During this programme, your class will learn about the Greyhope Bay centre itself and how it operates as an off-grid attraction. We’ll go on a guided tour of the site’s facilities from the solar panels that power it, to our state-of-the-art compostable toilets! Pupils will lead a discussion on the environmental benefits of these systems and will be asked to consider the limitations of implementing them on a wider scale. We’ll end the session with putting your class’s problem-solving and creativity to the test by challenging them to design their own eco-friendly attraction!
