The Festival of Ideas is a celebration of community innovation and collaboration and a testament to the power of collective action that is happening in Aberdeen.

Our Journey
Over 15 months, we embarked on an ambitious project to expand our facilities at Torry Battery, known as Phase 2. This journey involved working closely with community leaders, businesses, and experts in energy transition, circularity, and biodiversity. Through this collaborative process, we gained a valuable insight: even with limited resources, we could achieve significant progress by inviting the community to co-create green solutions.

A Festival for the People, By the People
We organised numerous co-creation workshops, bringing together over 100 participants, including our dedicated Green Powered Assembly. Together, we explored ideas, shared knowledge, and developed practical strategies for a sustainable future. The overwhelming success of these co-creation initiatives inspired us to create the Festival of Ideas.

This festival is a platform to:
Share Knowledge and Experience: Learn from fellow community members.
Connect and Collaborate: Build relationships and work together on innovative projects.
Turn Ideas into Action: Gain practical skills and tools to bring your visions to life.
Celebrate Community Achievement: Recognise the hard work and dedication of our community.

Join us at the Festival of Ideas and be part of the local groups that are shaping a greener, more sustainable future for Aberdeen
